Back Home !!!

Grandmom "Nana" Brown was so glad to see the boys! We ended up coming home a few days earlier than planned. It was almost 21 hours on a plane and in airports to make it home. It went pretty good overall. We were grateful that the plane ride started in Ethiopia at 10:30 at night. We arrived at Washington DC to have breakfast with Tim's dad who happened to be in DC for the weekend.

Settling In to Family Life

We stayed at the Addis Kidan Baptist Guest House in Addis Ababa. It was a very nice house for Ethiopian Standards and we had two private bedrooms and a bathroom. Bath time was quite a hit as you can see and there were toys and things to do to keep the boys quite busy. The staff at the house did a great job of letting us settle in, giving us food that all of us could eat, translating amharic and helping out.

Finally There!!!

This is us at Faith Children's Home in Addis Ababa. We were only there about 3 minutes at this point but thank goodness that Samuel likes to play ball. It made a good connection point.

Plane Tickets!!!!

We now officially have airline reservations to go and pick up our boys! We are leaving on August 23rd and will come back on September 4th. We have to fly via Washington DC and Rome to get there. It will take about 20 hours in total to fly each way! Special thanks goes out to Tim Nyce of Pilgrim Tours for arrainging the travel for us. We are very excited!

Immigration paperwork arrived!!!

Praise God!!! Our immigration paperwork is in hand! This was the last piece of paperwork we were waiting for in order to be cleared to travel. We are hoping that it gets to the right hands in Ethiopia when it needs to get there. They said it was sent. . . We'll find out next month:)

How can you help?

You can help in many ways! We are currently planning a fundraiser to help us raise the travel expenses to bring the boys home. We are planning to do a 5 k fun hike/bike on August 12th. You are invited to join us at the South Picnic Shelter of Herrick Lake to hike/bike from 3:00-5:00. After that, we will have ice cream sundaes to celebrate this new exciting adventure. We are seeking sponsors who would donate to help us bring our boys home.

We are working with the Beacon Foundation to handle all of the finances. The Beacon Foundation is a local, charitable organization dedicated to reaching out in many ways. They have agreed to help us with the adoption and give 100% of the money raised directly to defray our adoption expenses. You can make donations to them and simply put "Allchin Adoption" on the memo line.
